Wordless Wednesday: MindBody Medicine: Visual Journaling Space
This is my creative arts workspace. 52 years ago, my mom, who is now 92, created this beautiful needlepoint cushion cover for her antique chair. I now use this chair when I work on my creative projects. Mom had this chair in her bedroom for many years before she created the cushion. I remember the chair when I was a small child. My mom was very creative. She did many quilts and needlepoints. I like to think I inherited my creativity and love of color and texture from her. My Dad was an opera singer, he was always singing in the house.
I made this sign when I worked at the hospital running the MindBody Program. It was more fun than a plastic pre-lettered sign!
Here are some supplies I use for visual journaling. I collect supplies, picking stuff up on sale or at garage sales. The ribbons are soft and colorful and I love the texture of buttons in a collage.
I bought this treasure chest years ago at Michaels on sale. I keep lots of stickers and other crafty shapes in her to use in my visual journaling.
And of course I have lots of writing implements! Different drawing/writing media have different strokes and different emotional effects, so I change them with my mood.
Stop by again; I’ll be sharing some of my projects this summer!

This is fabulous! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much! I LOVE my mom’s chair. I have several projects in progress that I can’t wait to share! One I have going right now is a ceramic feather-mold wall hanging and the other is a wall hanging made of fabric, embellished with feathers, gem stones and other natural findings. thanks for stopping by! Kathy
Thanks for the look inside. Have you read any of Lisa Sonora Beam’s books or visited her web page? I think you would enjoy it.
